ABOUT ANDREW AVELEY
About Andrew Aveley. Most biography pages for “professional photographers” websites are written with a ‘romantic’ description of the person by copywriters. I originally had an interesting piece put together with the aid of a thesaurus and creative juice. I have recently had a rethink of what it is any visitor to my bio page should know about me.
This is my mantra ……
” PHOTOGRAPHY FOR ME IS NOT LOOKING, IT’S FEELING. IF YOU CAN’T FEEL WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING AT, THEN YOU’RE NEVER GOING TO GET OTHERS TO FEEL ANYTHING WHEN THEY LOOK AT YOUR PICTURES. ” – DON MCCULLIN
So to start, I would have to point out the obvious to you. I am totally engaged and passionate about photography as a means of personal expression and capturing a perfect moment that unfolds in front of my lens.
Whether this is on my own, with family, friends or while leading a photographic adventure safari with a client. As it is a subjective art form, I do not subscribe to the preconceived notion that one teaches others but shares. At that moment both with knowledge and passion. I am passionate about Conservation in wildlife and think photography is an important tool. This is in adding to efforts to preserve our natural heritage for generations to come
I have grown up through the old and the many new changing visions of the rainbow nation of South Africa and am inspired by the many beautiful things that surround me on this African continent. When out shooting, nothing beats ending the day around a fire with good friends and an epic cold one in hand!
To view the wide range of photographic genre I enjoy, hover your mouse over the portfolio tab on the top of the page. This is to see my passion in Landscape and Wildlife imagery. Below are some images were generously taken by a number of my close friends and Safari clients. This is how we roll in the field.
About Andrew Aveley – The Family Man
I am a family man and would not have achieved the personal, business and photographic success without their support. I enjoy sharing my photographic work with people from all walks of life. These are who have a true appreciation for our natural world in my mind. My images are a reflection of emotions and feelings that the moment I tripped my shutter captured.
Starting with film cameras in the late 80 ’s I then went ‘digital’ in early 2006 and have been enjoying every minute of this awesome format! My brand of choice is CANON. This is because of the equipment but because of the people behind the brand in South Africa. It is all about capturing that single exposure out in the fieThis withwith the equipment in my hands, rather than to sit for hours behind the monitor trying to ‘create’ an image.
One phrase that sums me up and can put all of the above into context is as follows……
” There is always a moment which makes you reflect and look back at life. Photography is no different for me………..all it takes is one frame and when I am doing what I love, at that moment I am truly free
A moment to think about life and enjoy the small gifts, the true meaning of friendship, nature, family and why life is worth living………”
“Peace and Light “
Please join me on my search for that peace & light by viewing images on this site, reading my blog, joining me on an adventure or just by selecting one of the special images in my online print store…..
